When I brought Scarlett to school her teacher asked me to hang around to make sure she was alright with the whole transition. They said sometimes it takes a week to a month for the child to be ok with mommy/daddy leaving so I need to make myself available. Within the first hour Scarlett comes up to me and says, "Mommy what are you still doing here?" Scarlett knew exactly what she was getting herself into. I keep trying to tell the teacher that she wants to be there, this is her choice. They are amazed at how happy and friendly she is, that's my girl!I feel a little guilty that I'm not sad about the whole thing. I'm happy for Scarlett, I know she is getting more attention and activity at school than she is at home. She gets to learn a whole new language, interact with kids from around the world and become more independent than she already is. It makes my time with her more meaningful because I know we have less time together so I want to soak up the time we have.
It just amazes me how much she is growing.

3 days a week as a student, I figure she'll be speaking Hungarian and replacing the teacher by year's end.
She is so darling! I'm actually excited for Emerie to start school, too - because I know that she will be happy to do it because she is so social and always wanting to learn more. I think it's just fine that you feel that same way. BTW - where do you shop for your little girls? They are always dressed so cute!
She is so stinkin' cute! And I agree with Ann :)
So cute Kel. You have an amazing little girl... and a great outlook on this new step in her life.
Izzy sounds just like Scarlett! What a cute cute picture!
she IS growing fast! still so cute though--both of them. oh, we need to come back to budapest.
it makes it a lot easier when they're so excited! and...that picture should be on the cover of a magazine! too cute.
She's grown so much! I bet her red cowgirl boots don't fit her anymore, either!
