Saturday we took Scarlett to the Budapest Zoo. Last time Jared and I were there (2 years ago) we thought it was pretty ghetto. We're happy to report they have made many improvements.
It's still amazing to us how close you can get to the animals. A lot of people will bring food to feed the animals. While we were at the elephants an older couple was throwing apples for them to eat. I saw the giraffes being fed butter biscuits, apples, and carrots. And a goat helped itself to someones rice crackers...you would never see anything like this in the states.

Lunchtime at the zoo is kind of gross. These birds were fed baby chicks in a cardboard box that the birds had to open themselves. Here's a bird with it's prize.
The giraffes were indoors allowing us to get even closer!

Scarlett didn't like the petting zoo
Pure exhaustion, she couldn't even finish the sucker in her hand
